Our Soil Testing Process
01
Sample Collection
You can bring your own sample, or we’ll walk you through how to collect one properly. For larger fields, we’ll help you determine the number of zones to sample for accurate results.
02
Lab Analysis
We send your soil to a trusted, certified lab for comprehensive analysis, including:
pH level
Macronutrients (N, P, K)
Secondary nutrients (Ca, Mg, S)
Micronutrients (Zn, Mn, Cu, Fe)
Organic matter and cation exchange capacity (CEC)
03
Nutrient Recommendations
Based on your lab report and crop or land-use goals, we create a custom fertilizer and lime plan just for you. We’ll explain the numbers, so you understand what to apply, how much, and when.
04
Custom Fertilizer Blending (Optional)
We can mix your fertilizer on-site based on your results — ready for pickup, delivery, or spreader application.
Who Should Test Their Soil?
Soil testing isn’t just for big farms. It benefits:
Row crop producers
Hay & forage growers
Pasture managers
Wildlife food plot managers
Gardeners
Homeowners maintaining lawns
Landowners improving new ground
Whether you manage 500 acres or a half-acre lawn, the right soil information leads to better results.
When to Test Your Soil
We recommend soil testing:
Every 2–3 years for most fields and pastures
Annually
for gardens, lawns, and food plots
Before planting
a new crop or changing land use
After poor performance
to diagnose problems
Avoid sampling right after heavy rainfall or fertilization. For best results, test well in advance of planting or application season.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I collect a soil sample?
Use a clean spade or probe to collect 10–15 cores from the area, 4–6 inches deep. Mix them in a clean bucket and bring about 1 pint to our office. We’ll take care of the rest.
How long does it take to get results?
Most tests are returned in 7–10 business days, depending on the season and lab volume.
Do you offer lime recommendations too?
Yes. We include lime needs based on soil pH and buffer capacity. We also carry lime and can spread it if needed.
Is testing only for farmers?
Not at all. Many of our customers are homeowners, food plot managers, or first-time landowners preparing new ground.
